IGSM serves as an annual gathering that unites students and recent graduates from across the globe in Geodesy.  The event serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and professional growth. EAASI's decision to sponsor IGSM reflects its dedication to fostering the growth of future industry professionals and attracting fresh talent to aerial surveying.

Vasil Dimitrov, General Secretary of the IGSM, thanked the Association for the initiative:

“This partnership signifies a pivotal moment in the evolution of our conference, as it not only demonstrates the industry's recognition of our mission but also underscores the collaborative spirit within the aerial surveying and photogrammetric community.

Our journey with EAASI began last year when I had the honor of representing IGSM at the EAASI Summit 2023 in Lisbon. It was there that our initial discussions laid the foundation for what has become a mutually beneficial collaboration.

EAASI's sponsorship has not only provided vital support for IGSM 2024 but has also enriched the experience for our participants, enabling us to deliver an event of unparalleled quality and significance. Their commitment to our cause speaks volumes about their dedication to fostering growth and advancement within our industry”.

This sponsorship aligns with EAASI's commitment to supporting the development of future industry professionals and attracting new talent to aerial surveying. In this regard, EAASI has recently launched the Outstanding Thesis Award - "Spatial Business Bridge". This award recognizes postgraduate students who effectively bridge technical geospatial applications with business elements and offers a dotation of 2000 euros.

EAASI firmly believes that collaboration and knowledge sharing between industry professionals and the academic community is vital for advancing the field of geodesy. With this sponsorship of IGSM and its continued efforts to forge partnerships with academia and student organizations, EAASI is committed to elevating the visibility of aerial surveying among the new generations.
