EAASI sponsors the International Geodetic Student Organisation Meeting

Around 200 participants from 17 countries will attend this event in Valencia (Spain)

As the leading non-profit association in the European aerial surveying market, EAASI recognizes the importance of fostering connections with the next generation of professionals. By sponsoring the most important annual event for geodetic students, EAASI aims to showcase the exciting career opportunities available in aerial surveying and emphasize the value of this dynamic industry.

The German Association for Geodesy (DVW) has launched a campaign to build young people’s awareness of the exciting career opportunities in the geospatial industry. EAASI will continue developing alliances with academia and student organizations to raise the visibility of aerial surveying among the new generations.

The IGSM is an annual event that brings together students and recent graduates from around the world in Geodesy. This year it will take place in Valencia (Spain), from 2 to 8 July 2023. With representatives from over 20 universities, predominantly from Europe, this event provides a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and professional development. EAASI's decision to sponsor IGSM for the second year stems from its commitment to supporting the development of future industry professionals and attracting new talent to aerial surveying.

As part of the sponsorship, EAASI will participate in a round table at IGSM on the 7th of July. During this session, the Association will actively promote and discuss careers in aerial surveying, shedding light on the diverse and rewarding paths available in this field. “Through engaging discussions, we aim to inspire and educate students and recent graduates about the potential of a career in aerial surveying. For EAASI is of utmost importance to connect with the new generations and show them that aerial surveying is an interesting industry that offers a wide range of career options, from data capture to data processing and all the intermediate processes”, says Marcos Martínez-Fernández, Secretary General of the Association and a former student from the Universitat Politècnica de València. This venue hosts the IGSM in 2023.

By sponsoring IGSM, EAASI aims to showcase the exciting career opportunities available in aerial surveying and emphasize the value of this dynamic industry.

Furthermore, by sponsoring IGSM, EAASI will gain significant visibility among the geospatial student community. The sponsorship has been acknowledged across IGSM's social media platforms, raising awareness about the Association and the aerial surveying industry.

EAASI firmly believes that collaboration and knowledge sharing between industry professionals and the academic community are crucial for advancing the field of geodesy. EAASI will continue developing alliances with academia and student organizations to raise the visibility of aerial surveying among the new generations.
